Palace Dessert Recipe and Ingredients

Ingredients

You can also make palace dessert, which has an important place among syrupy desserts, and present the flavor of this special dessert, made in palaces in the past, to your guests.

• Half a pack of margarine (softened at room temperature)

• 3 eggs (1 egg yolk will be separated)

• Half a cup of sugar

• Half a cup of oil

• Half a cup of semolina

• 1 packet of baking powder

• 1 packet of vanilla

• Flour as needed

Ingredients for the Syrup:

• 3 cups of water

• 3 cups of sugar

• 2 drops of lemon

Preparation

First, to make the dessert syrup, put 3 cups of sugar and 3 cups of water in a pot. (Since we will use the syrup cold, it is important to make the syrup first). To prevent the syrup from darkening and to hold its consistency better, squeeze 2-3 drops of lemon juice into the syrup and let it cook over low heat. To knead the dough for the dessert, in a large mixing bowl, add half a cup of sugar, half a cup of oil, half a cup of semolina, 1 packet of baking powder, 3 eggs (1 egg yolk will be separated), half a pack of margarine (125 grams), 1 packet of vanilla, and flour as needed for the consistency of the dough, and start kneading the dough well. After all the ingredients are well mixed and the kneading process is completed, let the dough rest for a while. After the dough has rested enough, take walnut-sized pieces, give them a round, flat shape, and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. (If you wish, you can also make the dough long, the size of a little finger). Finally, brush the tops of the desserts with egg yolk, and if desired, they can be decorated with hazelnuts or walnuts. Then, bake in a 200-degree oven until golden brown. As soon as the dessert is taken out of the oven, while it is still hot, pour the cold syrup over it and let the dessert cool. If desired, coconut can be sprinkled on top when serving. Enjoy…
