All remotes work with AA batteries. The quickest depletion of batteries is the biggest hassle and problem. How Remotes Work Remote controls have different operating principles. Although they are all called remote controls, some work with infrared technology, some with radio frequency, and some with light. All of these are used for different models. Radio frequency is preferred in cars, while LED technology is used in TVs. Over time, more effective and useful models will be developed and introduced to the market. The system suitable for the devices currently in use will change with the change of devices.
